Learn how to make paper thread using hanji and a drop spindle!

We will start with a sheet of hanji (handmade Korean paper) that is folded, cut, then manipulated and handspun into a one-ply thread. This contemporary method, developed by Aimee Lee, is rooted in Korean and Japanese traditions.

All skill levels welcome and most supplies will be provided, including x-acto knives, cutting mats, spray bottles, and hanji sheets provided by Paper Connection. We have a few drop spindles available, but it is best to bring your own. You can order the one we recommend here. Please bring your patience and openness to failure being part of the learning process!

taxes and fees will be added to this workshop fee.
